Doing it for the kids
Sainsbury’s commitment to kids’ nutrition and ingredient standards are at an all-time high, and this has filtered through to the Café and Coffee Bars where new Sainsbury’s kids’ meals have been relaunched to meet the following requirements:
- All Sainsbury’s kids’ meals have been specifically developed for children aged four to 8 years of age and contain no artificial colours or flavourings
- Sainsbury’s only uses British meat, sustainably sourced fish and free-range eggs, and every meal has been taste-tested by school-aged children to ensure they get the thumbs-up from those who matter
- Many of the products in the Sainsbury's Kids range contribute towards a child’s five-a-day requirement
- All kids’ main meals come with a complimentary piece of fruit.

Coffee break
Most coffee lovers (and, for that matter, tea and hot chocolate lovers) are a pretty discerning bunch – they know what they like, they won’t stand for an inferior product and they like to know exactly where the coffee beans, tea leaves and milk have been sourced. All Sainsbury’s coffees – filter, decaf, latte, cappuccino, mocha and espresso – are triple-certified, which means they are made from Fairtrade, organic and Rainforest Alliance beans.
- Espresso is made from a blend of Arabica beans from Peru, Ethiopia and Honduras, selected for the best flavour and aroma.
- Sainsbury’s tea is also Fairtrade certified (excluding specialty tea) and is grown by smallholders at about 1,675 metres above sea level in the Nyambeni mountain range in Kenya.
- Sainsbury’s hot chocolate has also been made with Fairtrade cocoa beans and sugar.

All Café and Coffee Bars are run by the main store team as part of Sainsbury’s continued focus on delivering an ever-improving shopping experience.
